At the center of it all is founder and MEGA’s Pinoy Pride Awardee for Dance at the MEGA Ball 2025’s Georcelle Dapat-Sy—known endearingly to many as “Teacher Georcelle”—who choreographed an entire culture. From television stages to sold-out arenas, she showed that Filipino dancers belong on the world’s stage, and she’s never stopped pushing the tempo forward.
Dance as Discipline, Dance as Devotion
Georcelle has always drawn parallels between dance and life: repetition, discipline, and devotion are the scaffolding of both. Under her watch, G-Force instilled a professional rigor that made every move hit harder. This mindset carried her dancers to new standards for artistry and athleticism in performance.
What started as a troupe has evolved into an ecosystem. G-Force isn’t only known for its star-making moments on screen and on stage—it is also a training ground, a school, and a support system. Young dancers walk through its doors not simply to learn choreography, but to find a family. That sense of belonging, married to world-class instruction, is what has sustained the group for 20 years.
Georcelle is tireless in her mission to prove that Filipino dance has cultural weight and commercial power. She has fought for dancers to be seen not as background, but as main event; not as fillers, but as artists in their own right. Her persistence has opened doors for countless performers, carving out careers where before there were only short-term gigs.
The Celebration Continues
At its 20th anniversary concert, G-Force looked back as it moved forward, debuting fresh choreography that fused classical precision with contemporary attitude, hip hop swagger, lyrical emotion, and jazz flair. The night doubled as both a reunion and a launchpad, with alumni sharing the spotlight with the next wave of dancers poised to carry the group’s name into another decade.
What Teacher Georcelle began in 2005 has become more than a company—it is a movement in motion. As the music shifts and the spotlight changes, G-Force will always find a way to stay in step with the times, while teaching the rest of us to move.
