EXCLUSIVE: Kyline Alcantara Enters Her New Era at MEGA Ball: Fashion + Dance

IIt was the kind of dress that could outlive a headline. In 1994, Princess Diana walked into the Serpentine Gallery dressed in Christina Stambolian and walked out a legend. The dress arrived the same night Prince Charles confessed his infidelity on national television—and somehow, it said more than he ever could. Fast forward to 2025, Kyline Alcantara walks into MEGA Ball: Fashion + Dance with that same electric certainty stitched into her Chris Nick . This time, the moment is hers, and the designer gives MEGA the modern retelling.

“Elegance and sensuality were the inspiration for Kyline’s look,” the designer shares. “The theme was dance for this year’s ball, and the ethos of Chris Nick revolves around the classics, so we decided to merge all our looks as if we’re about to do the waltz.”

It was nothing short of the vision. Alcantara wore a black strapless, sequin-trimmed ensemble, finished with a pleated chiffon sash that moved like choreography. The concept nodded to Diana—not in cut, but in conviction. Where the Princess left a train behind her, Kyline’s sash floated with purpose.

“It’s always a collaborative effort with Kyline, being one of my best friends and all,” the designer continues. “She wanted something elegant, but at the same time youthful and sensual. We had to work around a more grown-up version of Kyline entering her new era.”

Whatever chapter she’s in, she’s owned it and earned it. The simplicity of black, the boldness of restraint. And in the words of the designer himself: “Consider it a revenge dress.”
