Bigger and better. That’s what to expect from this year’s Full Spectrum Makeup Masterclass.  Last year’s edition blurred the line between lesson and performance, but did we really expect less from three of the most in-demand faces behind the faces?  This year truly is bigger and better, and one-third of the crew Jelly Eugenio lets MEGA in on all that’s set to unfold—six secrets you should know.

1. One For The Curious, One For The Confident

Last year was a one-day wonder. This year, the trifecta Jelly Eugenio, Mark Qua, and Anthea Bueno decided that a day couldn’t hold the full range of the art they wanted to share.

“We’ve divided it into two shows to really focus on the experience of those who will attend, whether you are a non-professional makeup artist or if you just love doing your makeup,” Eugenio tells MEGA. It covers all bases. “That’s why we’re called the Full Spectrum Masterclass,” he cheekily adds. Beauty enthusiasts, you’d want to block August 6 and 7 off your calendars.

2. Come With a Full Face, Leave With More

It’s a masterclass, so demos and hands-on practice are a given. The makeup artist, however, reveals an interesting twist. “We encourage attendees to have a full face of makeup,” he begins. “But after they take photos and when they’re seated, they will actually have to wipe half of their face off before we start the demo.” The point? To confront your reflection and see just how differently you’ve been doing it all along.

“We want you guys to see how different you do your makeup vis-a-vis how we’ll teach it, and how it’s gonna look with our techniques,” he adds. So follow suit. Be ready to unlearn and relearn. Come with a full face, and you leave with more: more insight, more finesse, and a better understanding of what makeup can really do. “It’s exciting because even if you know how to do your makeup, if you learn it from a different person, that’d be so, so exciting.”

3. A Fuller Day for the Pros

The pro class, a.k.a. SHOW 004, runs longer by design. “We wanted more time to reveal the actual techniques we use,” Eugenio shares. He reveals it won’t be as simple as the first day (SHOW 003) for the non-professionals.

“We’re gonna talk about weather, how to make your makeup last longer, how to do makeup on clients—everything.” Even the masterclass format will be different this time around. “In the non-pro class, you do it on yourself. In the pro class, you listen in the morning, then you apply it to a model in the afternoon.” Tailored, immersive, and intentionally demanding.

4. Get the First Look at Unreleased Lashes and Eyeliners

“We’re launching lashes,” Eugenio gives it to us straight. “We designed lashes with… we can’t reveal the brand yet,” he trailed off. But here’s what we know: all three of them, Anthea, Jelly, and Mark, have designed lashes and will be used live on the day. “The students will also receive this.”

“I’m also tapping a brand to provide us with the longest-lasting eyeliner we’ve ever created,” he further reveals. It’s ultra-fine, locally unseen, and currently under wraps. Attendees will be the first to try it before it hits shelves, feeds, or anyone else’s kit.

5. Real Models, Real Skin, Real Challenges

Last year, the demo faces were stars. They had Catriona Gray, Nadine Lustre, Janine Gutierrez, and other near-flawless icons. This year, the focus shifts. Not to fantasy, but to reality.

“Our models will be real people,” Eugenio tells us. “Since it’s skin we’re talking about, we’re bringing in people with real skin problems. For sculpting, we have someone who feels their face should appear slimmer or more snatched. For the eyes, we have a model with smaller eyes for us to show how to make them appear bigger.”

The Full Spectrum Masterclass, at its core, doesn’t just go bigger in scope—it digs deeper in thought.

6. The First Industry Ball

If you squinted at the end of their Instagram announcement, you might’ve caught it: The Industry Ball, coming soon. The makeup artist gives us a tease.

“We’re preparing The Industry Ball—the first-ever event for makeup artists,” he says.  The plans are still in motion, but what’s certain is the guest list: the most recognizable names in Philippine makeup artistry, all under one roof. With a fundraising component built in, the event aims to carve out a collective voice for artists who, until now, have mostly worked in beautiful isolation. “That’s the main goal of the Industry Ball: to have one voice for all makeup artists in the Philippines.”

And yes, there’s a way in. SHOW 004 attendees will have the chance to earn their seat at this table—not by invite, but by merit. “Through a special competition,” Eugenio teases. Think of it as a backstage pass to the most exclusive afterparty the local beauty scene has never had… until now.
