Liza Soberano Attends the Gold Gala in a Modern Terno Gown

Just last weekend, Liza Soberano graced the Gold Gala in a modern terno gown designed by Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner

The Gold Gala is an annual event held to honor Asians who have showcased outstanding performances in the film industry. With the event held in California, it is no surprise to see quite the roster of Filipino personalities clad in their exquisite ensembles, from Lea Salonga, Bella Poarch, to Patrick Starrr.

Apart from these globally known personalities, one other attendee made a strong presence as she stepped foot onto the carpet in a piece that showcased Filipino culture. This woman is none other than Liza Soberano.

The young actress has been making waves in western media as she ventured into more film projects that push her further into her artistry. Not only that, but she also continues to display such perseverance in turning her dream of entering the global scene into reality—making her an inspiration to her fellow Filipinos.

We have seen mature under the spotlight and we can definitely say that she has honed a fashion that has such versatility while maintaining a tone of class, and we see this come to life once again with the modern terno she wore to the gala.

The custom terno was created by Filipino designer Mark Bumgarner. The design, a modernized rendition of the terno, was done with such simplicity and elegance as the silhouette was kept clean and minimal, free from any complicated drapings. Meanwhile, the fabric has a sheer finish to it, giving enough spotlight to the boning seen on the torso. And as for the finishing touches, the revised butterfly sleeves we’ve all come to love were featured on the design. 

She made sure to keep her look cohesive with the simplicity she had going on in her dress. The neckline had a low finish to it, giving the dainty diamond necklace the perfect placement on her collarbone. Her hair was kept sleek in a half updo finish, while her makeup had minimal color to it with a touch of modern flick seen on the eyeliner.
