Being a celebrity is more than just the glitz and glamour that comes with fame. There’s also a platform and the responsibility to use it correctly. Such is the case with Solenn Heussaff. The actress and artist may have a busy career spanning TV, movies, and painting, but that hasn’t stopped her from using her time and resources to support those in need, particularly displaced children, as seen in her recent visit to the Cribs Foundation, where she was dressed as one of her most memorable characters.

Solenn Heussaff’s Special Day at Cribs Foundation As Cassiopeia
Solenn Heussaff is known for many things. To audiences, one of those is Cassiopeia from Encantadia. And for the kids of the Cribs Foundation, which is a local charity that supports and provides a temporary home to abandoned or neglected children and young girls who are survivors of abuse, they got to see a new side of the character when Solenn dressed up as her during a visit to the charity to spend time with the kids and young girls under their care.

“My brother and Anne had visited them for her birthday, and they were the ones who encouraged me to visit because Sang’gre is one of the few shows they’re allowed to watch,” Solenn tells MEGA Asia about her work with Cribs Foundation. When Solenn’s brother Erwan told her that the children would ask him questions about Cassiopeia, the actress felt it would be a good opportunity to let the kids have an up-close-and-personal encounter with Cassiopeia, especially considering that she wore the actual costume from the famed series.
“Knowing that the costume was going to be placed in storage, I reached out to see if I could borrow it. Thankful that the show allowed me to do so. I thought that it would be lovely for Cassiopeia to visit them and would make their day.” The special occasion was more than just Solenn in her iconic goddess costume and spending time with the kids, as she also brought along donations from sponsors for the charity, which made for a day to remember. “It’s always a great feeling to see people love the character as much as I do. There’s an instant connection,” she says.

Aside from meeting the kids, posing for photos with them, and joining them in their activities, Solenn’s support of the Cribs Foundation has also shown her the important work the charity does in providing neglected kids with a loving and safe home and a shelter for female minors who have unfortunately been victims of sexual abuse. The foundation takes care of these children until they find a new permanent home, serving as both a residence and school for them as they grow up.
“The people who work there genuinely want the best for the babies and girls in their care,” Solenn expresses. “I love that they have an in-house school, as well, and activities like painting and dancing. Even after the girls leave, they’re welcome to come back and volunteer or help out.”
