The Eve of an Alpha
With The Eve of an Alpha just twelve days away, pressure is inevitable. But more than nerves, G22 is fueled by excitement. “We’ve just been working really hard. We just want to focus on ourselves and what we wanna show to our Bullets and the people supporting us,” Jaz shared.
Preparing for their biggest performance yet has required more than rehearsing choreography. AJ revealed that taking care of themselves has become just as important as perfecting every routine. “It’s a lot of physical and emotional energy. Gusto namin ibigay ang best namin, especially sa mga tao. They’re really dedicating their time and budget para panoorin kami. (We want to give our best, especially to the people. They’re really dedicating their time and budget just to watch us.)”

For Alfea, every rehearsal reminds them why the hard work matters. “We’re pouring our heart and soul sa pag-prepare for this concert. Sana maging worth it siya sa mga audience na manonood. Because for us, worth it siya. (I hope the audience thinks it’s worth it, because it’s worth it for us.)”
Four Years of Growth
Looking back on four years together, G22 sees their evolution as something that happened naturally. They entered the industry as teenagers with dreams of performing. Today, they’re preparing for the biggest show of their careers.
“Nagsimula kami as children, as trainees (We started as children, as trainees). As we naturally progressed in our careers and achieved milestones we’re so grateful for, we evolved in our artistry,” Jaz reflected.
As their artistry evolved, so did the team behind them. What began with a small group of collaborators has grown into a wider creative network of mentors, creatives, and industry professionals who have helped shape G22 into the performers they are today.
Their biggest source of growth, however, has been each other. Having spent their formative years together, the three have experienced adulthood side by side, forging a bond that extends far beyond the stage. “We had a lot of life experiences going into adulthood, which really shaped our evolution. We had each other all.”
“That sisterhood, musical evolution, and our life experience are what really contributed to our evolution.”

Celebrating Women
Beyond the music and performances, G22 believes their connection with audiences comes from something deeper: their commitment to celebrating women. “Filipinos love to celebrate women,” AJ said simply.
That support is exactly what motivates the group to continue advocating for female empowerment through their music and message. “As G22, nilalaban namin ang women empowerment (As G22, we advocate for women empowerment). And it’s so inspiring that Filipinos are showing love for women,” AJ added.

For Jaz, having a platform is a privilege they don’t take for granted. “To have a voice, to have a platform, to be able to express ourselves in this massive platform is just a celebration. And I think that’s why it’s widely loved.”
Alfea also acknowledged the generations of girl groups that came before them, crediting the SexBomb Girls for helping pave the way for today’s thriving P-Pop scene. “Isa rin yung SexBomb sa patunay na even before, kaya na ng mga Pilipino (SexBomb was one of the girl groups that proved that Filipinos can do it). And it’s starting to grow now.”
As G22 prepares to step onto the stage for The Eve of an Alpha, the concert represents more than a long-awaited milestone. It celebrates four years of perseverance, sisterhood, and artistic growth while marking the beginning of a new chapter. If the journey that brought Jaz, AJ, and Alfea here is any indication, their biggest stage yet is only the start of what’s still to come.
