A sequel to Joker (2019), this American jukebox musical follows the life of struggling comedian Arthur Fleck–the Joker himself–as he awaits trial for the events of the first film. While incarcerated, he meets and develops a toxic relationship with Harleen Quinzel, a fellow patient at Arkham State Hospital.

Humans vs. technology is always a must-watch trope for sci-fi lovers, and science fiction thriller Subservience certainly gives life to this genre by encapsulating the true-to-life anxieties surrounding advanced artificial intelligence. The story is set in a distant future where lifelike androids have taken over jobs. Struggling father Nick, whose wife is in the hospital, decides to purchase an AI android named Alice to ease household responsibilities–a decision that will soon pose a threat to his entire family.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man
Comic book movies are certainly rising in popularity, and new ones are being dropped on Max this year. One of these is 2024 American superhero horror film, Hellboy: The Crooked Man. A second reboot of the Hellboy film series, the events of the film follow Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent as they find themselves stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia, where they discover a community of witches led by a local devil.
