VOLUME ON: FARRAH FAWCETT

Nonchalant lioness layers are a huge trend these days. Often referred to as the “Flower Cut,” the way to sport this famous ‘do now is to rely on a curling iron (preferably with variations of barrel size) or medium to large curlers to achieve less-structured sexy locks. Alternating the direction of the curl will help add volume and also lend a more natural-looking finish to a big mane.
PUNK PHENOMENON: JOAN JETT

Joan aka “The Godmother of Punk” can be credited for making the shag a household name. The modern take on this edgy hairstyle? Hairstylist Lourd Ramos says, “This heavily textured and layered style can be made to look softer and more wearable with thinner, wispier ends at the crown area. Dry shampoo and wax will aid in styling this intentionally messy yet creative look.”
BEELINE: AUDREY HEPBURN

Audrey as a chic and glamorously dressed Holly Golightly sporting a bejeweled beehive in Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of the most iconic looks in movie history. Micro bangs may not be for everyone though so this generation’s version features longer strands at the front styled in a side swept manner. To keep hair in place, Lourd recommends a flexible hairspray, allowing you to tweak as you style hair in place.
