This impressive Korean actor has earned a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim through his dynamic career. As we get ready to see Park Seo Joon in a whole new light, here’s a look back at some of his previous shows.

A successful editor

Some mainstream reviewers may dismiss She Was Pretty as a normal romantic narrative, yet it is worth praising since it is one of Park Seo Joon’s real entrances to the Korean wave. In this show, the actor was a leading man set against the backdrop of a fashion magazine’s publishing office. Rough around the edges, his character as a successful editor met Kim Hye-jin and soon learned about their connection from childhood. Though most parts of the show were stereotypical subject matters associated with love, Park Seo Joon’s character development was perhaps the best aspect of the show’s run inside the workplace.

A former taekwondo player

This was the first in the line of K-Dramas as in this series Park Seo Joon teamed up with a sought-after Korean actress Kim Ji-won. This romantic comedy piece revolves around the story of underdogs with big dreams like Seo Joon’s role who is a former taekwondo player who had to halt his career because of his painful past. This can come off as a simple story on the surface, but when you go deeper into the plot, the course teaches us to surround ourselves with people who believe in us, even when we are having difficulty believing in ourselves. True enough, Seo Joon served the message of the series through a wide range of emotions presented by his character.

A police academy cadet

In between his leading men roles, Park Seo Joon accepted the mission of becoming a police officer in an action-comedy film titled Midnight Runners. This is not a love story but Seo Joon seemed to have no problem taking on this challenging portrayal. Park Seo Joon plays the character of Ki-Joon. He studies at the police academy because it does not require any tuition fees. Whereas, Kang Ha Neul portrays Hee-yeol who is a geek. They begin as two individuals with no desire to become police officers until one day they come across a kidnapping case being perpetrated right under the local police department. This show unleashed the action-packed side of the actor, allowing more people to see that he can fit into more unique roles.

In the drama, Park Seo Joon is handsome and good at his job but his narcissistic attitude gets in the way. There was plenty of hype about how K-Drama flicks were able to enjoy What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim. This story of blossoming modern romance inside the workplace was a series that highlighted Park Seo Joon’s classy style and detailed acting. Yet Park Seo Joon was used to portraying a male lead, still, he delivered a different flavor to the character. His face was able to express various emotions—showing many sides of Lee Young Joon.

An MMA fighter

When we get right down to it, Park Seo Joon was intriguing in this violence-filled film titled The Divine Fury. His fans might consider this as his most challenging role, playing a martial arts champion who met an exorcist, and together they fight against an evil force. This somehow started the transition of the actor into more disturbing but exceptional roles outside a love team.

A sign of an exceptional actor is when he is ready to take on more disturbing roles. At this point in the actor’s career, Park Seo Joon was taking a bold step away from his previous romantic lead roles. According to reports, he treats his role in Itaewon Class as a turning point in his career. Apart from his distinctive haircut, Seo Joon as Park Sae Roy deeply affected the viewers as he delivered an impact on the youth and society as a whole. In an interview, he also mentioned that through the show, he also ended up growing and evolving.

As Park Seo Joon continues his direction in the entertainment industry, his dynamic range as an actor led him to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While he has built a reputation in the Korean wave as the “master of romantic comedy” or “king of romance,” Park Seo Joon’s latest role is a departure from his previous works. The Captain Marvel sequel, directed by Nia DaCosta, is scheduled to be released on November 10.

The nature of Park Seo Joon’s MCU role has been kept under wraps, but fans were able to deduce a concept about his much-anticipated participation after a teaser showed his look in the film. According to the trailer, Seo Joon’s role may be the commander of warriors against the film’s villain. His long flowing hair was a sight to behold in the teaser, as did his multicolored wing-like armor on his shoulders and a reflective costume. The scene showed him carrying a sword while accompanied by individuals wearing horned masks. It also looks like this Korean actor will portray Prince Yan, a member of planet Aldana’s monarchy. However, his identity is still unknown, theories remain just that. While we wait for the MCU to announce Park Seo Joon’s role, we can anticipate him leaving viewers eagerly awaiting his action sequences on the big screen.
