The significance of a bridal look transcends the occasion itself. And for Angelica Panganiban’s four wedding looks, they capture her womanhood in its most beautiful state yet. In an exclusive interview with Stylized Studio, celebrity stylist Liz Uy reveals how each dress is a peek through Angelica’s personality that we’ve come to know on and off the limelight.

The “bridechilla” disposition
As Angelica comes back to her bridal state for the second time around in Siargao, her laidback and free-spirited disposition bespeaks into her four wedding looks—three for the main event, and one for the welcome dinner. According to the stylist, the actress gave them the breath of fresh air in the pressures of preparing for the wedding. “She would say, ‘No, it’s going to work. It’s going to happen!” So, we’re not on our toes. She’s just so chill,” Liz says.

The bride wore the Mayol dress from the Couture Collection of Rosa Clará, a Spanish bridal house
Making her way to meet Gregg, her husband, she donned a Rosa Clará gown with an embellished, scallop-trimmed bodice and a veil with floral appliqués at the ceremony. Peeking through the classic organza and tulle bottom is a high slit on the left side to accentuate the bride’s choice of walking into married life barefoot, and free.

Drop earrings and emerald- cut tennis bracelet from JMA Jewelry, as well as her anklet, added a touch of shine to her look as well. In a natural bridal glow by Denise Go-Ochoa and a sleek, middle-parted bun by Antonio Papa, the actress was ready for her best role to date.

A day before the ceremony, the Homan couple welcomed their guests with a welcome dinner. The woman of the occasion donned another Rosa Clará ensemble, with the styling team’s idea of Angelica embodying a Grecian goddess for the night. A polished look with a touch of flair could be seen in the details—the pleated design, a v-styled neckline, slits on both sides, and a cape at the back. This time, she wore diamond-studded flower earrings from JMA Jewelry. Makeup artist Mikka Marcaida surprised Angelica with her attendance, and did her look for the night along with Anton Papa’s side-parted bun with tendrils.

For the pre-wedding preparation and the afterparty, the Stylized Studio team underscored the fun and carefree nature of the bride, while still in consideration of staying cohesive with Angelica’s character. Before she walked down the aisle, Angelica had a moment with her bridesmaids as she donned a white robe and dress from Neric Beltran. Later on, she donned a Martin Bautista creation at the reception—a ruffled, four-tiered tulle overlay dress with a mini, inner dress. This time, the bride opted for a middle-parted, slicked-back hairstyle, ready for a night of fun with their guests. To complete the look, she donned a dainty Love Rocks floral earrings and JMA Jewelry emerald cut tennis bracelet.

The style vow

Styling is always a collaborative process, but for Liz Uy and her team, comfort is the top priority for a bridal look. “We always ask. Everything has permission, because we want [the bride] to feel her best. Everything is well thought of,” she explains.
The stylist shared her thoughts on planning outfits for beach parties as well, giving tips that she applied for Angelica’s wedding. “Beach weddings are tricky because you have to consider the weather, the location, and the color because there’s a theme. In Angelica’s case, she required us to wear white [for the welcome dinner] which was very unlikely and nontraditional for me because normally, the bride is the only one wearing white,” she reveals. “That gave me the impression that she’s very secure of herself and she doesn’t give you limits. She just wants everyone to look and feel beautiful.”

Ending the conversation by circling back to the woman of the occasion, Liz describes Angelica’s style as a peek of the bride’s heart. “That’s how she loves. Her style is a reflection of her personality. She’s very selfless. She wants everybody to shine.”
