Sunnies Studios celebrated their 10th year anniversary with a Filipino-inspired party
For 10 years, Sunnies Studios has been dedicating itself to creating products that are accessible to all Filipinos. May it be in the aspect of price, skin color, and aesthetic—the homegrown brand made it a point that fashion and style should be fit for the Filipinos. And up to this day, people are still trying to get their hands on the coveted products of Sunnies.
With a quick interview with one of the co-founders of the brand, Bea Soriano-Dee shared to us the inspiration behind the gala. She gave the credit to their retail team as they wanted to highlight the brand being Filipino and it becoming the number one eyewear company despite having the biggest global brands as their competition.

“They really wanted to celebrate that we’re a local brand from the Philippines and the pride stems from being a Filipino company.”
Bea Soriano-Dee
Jess Wilson shared the same sentiment with Bea Soriano-Dee. She told us that the Filipino culture is so rich, and having the chance to see it during the party when traditional dances were performed only made them feel more prideful towards our country.
“We’ve always had the ambition to bring our brands global while ensuring we raise the Philippine flag and represent the country in the best way possible.”

To celebrate the 10 years of the company, Sunnies gathered their employees for a lavish Filipino-inspired party. Barongs and ternos made their way down the Manila Hotel as the team happily participated in the gala. However, it goes without saying that the spotlight stealers consisted of the four founders of Sunnies in their gorgeous Filipiniana ensembles.
Georgina Wilson in Rajo Laurel
A stunner in white, Georgina Wilson showed up in a custom Rajo Laurel piece that embodied such simple elegance. The silhouette was kept clean and sleek since the exaggerated butterfly sleeves and cape were already a statement on their own. For a dainty pop of color, she added an amethyst and gold necklace.

Martine Ho in AJ Javier
Going for a more traditional look, Martine Ho wore a Balintawak-inspired gown designed by AJ Javier. The bodice hugged her figure neatly as the skirt featured draping tied as a belt on the side—a classic Filipiniana look along with a beautiful floral pattern.

The co-founder was classy in her black floral Filipiniana. It was a laidback look with her satin dress topped off with a brown scarf for an earthy tone.

Bea Soriano-Dee in Vania Romoff
It was a mix of textures and appliques for Bea Soriano-Dee’s Filipiniana ensemble. She sported a coordinated look that was cut off by her bust. The top was done with ruched finish while the skirt was billowed out with laces, tulle, and appliques.
