MEGA Lookbook: The Isabel Marant Way to Style ‘Moto Boho’

MEGA Lookbook: The Isabel Marant Way to Style ‘Moto Boho’

By

It’s ‘biker chic meets Woodstock.’ Isabel Marant did it first—and the it girls are following

Boho was always about freedom—swaying fringe, undone ease, a life in motion. But lurking beneath it was the biker’s edge—raw, gritty, and noisy. Fast forward to today, and the two collide in a perfect storm. Lovechild ‘moto boho’ takes over the 2024 and 2025 runways—lace under leather, studded prairie skirts, and biker boots against ruffles. Romantic but reckless, the 2025 it girl is taking the fast lane, and here’s what she’s wearing.

Moto Boho

But first, credit where it’s due. Boho has always been around, as has moto dressing, but it was the Isabel Marant Spring ‘25 RTW show that delivered the ultimate ‘moto boho’ mood board. Boho prints tangled with studded leather mini shorts, suede braided and fringed like something pulled from an Amazonian dream. The contrast was deliberate.

Romantic Rebellion

Boho can lean too free-spirited, and moto too harsh—so where do the romantics fit in? Right in the middle, where women are free to wear their sweetest mini dresses with no restraint. Here, it becomes a dance of opposites, where femininity is balanced by ruggedness in the best way possible.

Do: Opt for more natural tones if black feels too heavy. Think brown leather instead of black, and strappy suede heels instead of boots—keeping it romantic without losing the tough moto touch.

Dark Side of Boho

While boho’s always been tethered to earthy tones, this version breaks all the rules for the city girl. True to the hardcore side of the moto, softness is strengthened in an unexpected collision of textures. Leather, macramé, black, and white—it walks the line between ethereal and untouchable.

Do: Let the texture speak for itself. When wearing leather shorts, pair them with something lighter and keep everything else feeling easy, like a loosely styled white top. Balance the softness with something tough, like boots or a wide studded belt.

Pop Goes the Boho

In a monochromatic and muted world, a well-placed pop of color is always a welcome disruptor. This is for the rogue feminine, the kind of woman who dreads ending up like a boring ‘beige mom’ or a try-hard rockstar. She’s not afraid of color, and so she wears it like a badge.

Do: Think of color and print as an accent rather than a focal point. To avoid visual overload, pair with solid neutrals or understated textures. Layering is all fun and games until you end up looking chaotic instead of intentional.

Sunday’s Best

Look 4

It’s Sunday, but you’re not here to play by the rules. Jeans are neither moto nor boho, but you wear them to win your mom’s approval. White lace can add a touch of sweetness, while a black leather vest on top makes you a lot cooler and less basic. It’s moto boho, but make it brunch-appropriate.

Do: Throw in an unexpected article of clothing or accessory. Disrupt the moto boho motif with a pair of classic jeans or a bold printed bag. Boho is supposed to be freeing, so don’t let the rules box you in.
