EXCLUSIVE: Vania Romoff and Float Swimwear Collaborate on the Summer Capsule of Your Dreams

It’s not every day you see Vania Romoff—she of dreamy ceremonials and bridal poetics—dip a toe into swim fashion. But with Float Swimwear, the label known for its sleek, unfussy take on form and function, the plunge feels less of a pivot. Together, two of the country’s adored brands unravel a summer capsule rooted in wearability—elegant, easy, and the kind of pieces you’d reach for without second thought.

Seven-Piece Wonder

The collection went live on the twelfth of April, just at the crest of summer in the Philippines. We argue there’s no better time for a collection like this to drop.

The thing about Float Swimwear is that it’s always stood apart from most local swimwear brands. They’ve got the dreamiest of cuts and timeless silhouettes made for the women who love their classics. So when the collaboration with Vania Romoff was announced, anticipation was high. What happens when hyperfeminine design meets sleek and functional swimwear?

Answer: a seven-piece collection that melds floaty femininity with the kind of elegance one can bring to the sea, by the shore, and everywhere in between.

“We kept silhouettes streamlined and versatile,” Romoff shared, “but of course, we infused each piece with quiet design details from our end, such as the pleated straps, gold buttons, as well as the choices of color.”

When Styles Align

“It was actually Vania’s idea to push this collaboration and, of course, we were more than thrilled to accept it,” shares Tracianne Estrada, creative mind, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Float Swimwear, alongside her twin sister, Trasienne.

Both labels draw inspiration from vintage swimwear seen in old movies and magazines. In looking back at pieces from the ‘50s to the ‘70s (and a lot of vintage Chanel), they’ve breathed new life into the champagne-sipping elegance of that era, reimagining it for 2025.

When asked about which parts of Romoff’s and their design language come through in the capsule, Estrada recounts their collaborations (albeit as clients) in the past: “Vania purchased Float maillots in the past and we have a lot of dresses made by her, so I think all the creative ideas just naturally happened for us.”

“I remember An and En sharing how their clients would often say that Float feels like the Vania Romoff of local swimwear, which made this collaboration feel so natural,” Romoff added.

This was a fun process for the Float co-founder. “It was fun to translate her ideas into a swimwear piece—building on past Float silhouettes and adding Vania’s feminine elements,” Estrada shared. “Shooting the editorial in La Union was also fun because I got to model and shoot with my sister again, which we haven’t really done in a long time.”

Could this be the summer capsule of your dreams? It’s for you to decide. But if your perfect summer looks like barefoot mornings on sunlit shores—a timeless maillot shaping every mood as you glide through the waves and sip a drink at the nearest bar, the answer is a resounding yes.
