Versatile actor Sandra Oh is up in the horror game, which is why you shouldn’t hesitate from giving this film a watch, knowing the credible legacy of the lead actress. Umma, which means “mom” in Korean, is a supernatural-horror combo that gives a creepy take on family drama and psychological thriller. Oh’s character Amanda, whose living quietly in a rural farm with her daughter, suddenly gets confronted by the abusive memories of her childhood after receiving the ashes of her estranged mother all the way from South Korea.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow
We all know that a movie marathon on Halloween is not complete without a hint of spookiness—but why not make it more family-friendly with The Curse of Bridge Hollow starring crowd favorite comedian, Marlon Wayans? The story centers on a small town called Bridge Hollow. Priah Ferguson portrays a character named Sydney who initially has a hard time adjusting to her new surroundings, but then Halloween comes. Through her discovery of the season, Sydney accidentally releases an ancient spirit from a legendary jack-o’-lantern, which causes all Halloween decorations to live and attack the town.
