Filled with an abundance of colors, threads, and fine craftsmanship, day one of Bench Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection reveals its roster of local designers that raised the bar. 1. WHAT WOMEN WANT by VANIA ROMOFF * Swipe left or right to see more of the collection Quintessential femininity is a recurring theme that percolates through all of Vania Romoff’s womenswear collections. Her woman is the kind who exudes elegance and nonchalance all at once. The opening look was a mini flapper dress reminiscent of Josephine Baker’s playful nature. Evidenced by Romoff’s signature aesthetic in soft hues and a few brights, there was a plenitude in ruffles, natural fabrics, sheath-column dresses, streamlined trousers (some even worn underneath statement blouses), and accessorized by gold, scene-stealing earrings.
