Defying the limits of movement, Sparkle artist Gabbi Garcia pirouetted into MEGA Ball: Fashion + Dance in a voluminous white gown—a perfect balance of fluidity, drama, and elegance. MEGA spoke with stylist Leanne Ledesma, who let us in on the vision that turned Garcia’s look into a dance of elegance and drama.

A Dancer Wrapped in Fabric
“We drew inspiration from Barbra Streisand’s bridal scene in Funny Girl,” Ledesma started. The team tapped designer Cheetah Rivera to realize their vision through a couture piece soon to join her upcoming bridal collection.
A modern corseted bodice added a contemporary edge, paired with a voluminous, draped skirt. the look merged sculptural drama with fluid elegance—like a ballerina en pointe, her fouetté captured mid-motion.
“We imagined a dancer right after a performance, wrapping herself in fabric as a final gesture,” the stylist shared, a vision that inspired the gown’s soft drapingDrapingThe process of arranging and shaping fabric directly on a dress form or body to create a garment's design, rather than a flat pattern. Even with its structure, it artfully captured the strong and flowing movement of a dancer on stage—a nod to the MEGA Ball theme. “From sketch to final fitting, our goal was to create a look that felt fashion-forward, feminine, and true to Gabbi’s personal style,” Ledesma expressed.
Pas de Deux
Having styled Garcia for years, Ledesma has always found joy in working with the artist, describing her as “easygoing and effortlessly stylish.” She recalled a moment during the final fitting when Garcia playfully adjusted the gown’s folds and joked, “Fresh out of the shower!”
“That moment made the look feel even more personal,” Ledesma said. “Her authenticity, humor, and ease are exactly what she brings to every look and why working with her is always so fulfilling.”
