A headquarters isn’t just an office—it’s a foundation. A foothold. The architecture of ambition. For Patty Ang, that vision takes form at The Headquarters, her newly minted space in Makati, where her two brands—Patton and Patty Ang—stand distinct yet side by side.

It’s a fitting name. The Headquarters isn’t merely a showroom or an atelier, nor is it stationed at a lifestyle mall; it’s a center for a designer and entrepreneur who has been steadily expanding her influence, both locally and internationally. From dressing global celebrities to expanding her ready-to-wear line, the designer isn’t knocking on doors, but drafting the blueprints for a house of her own.

Divided by Design

Ang’s namesake label carries a feminine strength—graceful in form, precise in detail, rooted in tradition yet always in motion. Patton, on the other hand, leans into a more industrial edge, favoring structure, utility, and a certain nonchalant cool. The challenge was to house both brands in one space without blurring their distinct identities.

“We still want to separate both brands. That’s why there’s a tunnel in between: If you step into one, it’s a different experience; Step into the other, and it’s another world.”

The athleisure line, Patton, carries an aesthetic that leans gender-neutral—pragmatic, wearable, and effortless, much like its latest campaign star, Emily Ratajkowski. “We really wanted to find someone who embodies what Patton is,” Ang says of the supermodel-turned-author, whose off-duty style mirrors the label’s DNA. “With her, it’s not just for work. It’s how she actually dresses every day.”

Ang’s ambitions don’t stop at The Headquarters. Both her brands are gaining momentum, and she has her sights set on a bigger playing field. “It’s our dream to put a Filipino brand in the global fashion market,” she says. “It’s not easy, but it’s a big step. And with the right push, we’ll see how far we can go.”

The Jennie Connection

The industry is paying attention. BLACKPINK’s Jennie recently wore a red Patty Ang top in a music video, a major moment for any designer. “We work with her stylist, and we sent her pieces that fit her aesthetic,” Ang says. “It’s really about the right moment, the right time, the right placement. Everyone wants to dress her, so when it happens, it’s huge.”

That kind of exposure is invaluable. It signals not only a rising presence in the international market but also a shift in how Filipino designers are being received globally. “Filipino and Asian designers are getting more recognition,” she notes. “It’s exciting. You never know if they’re going to wear it today or tomorrow—it’s a waiting game.”

For now, The Headquarters is Ang’s focus—a space that reflects where she is and where she’s headed. While a café expansion isn’t in the cards for this location, she’s always looking at what’s next. Growth is the goal, but not at the expense of losing what makes her designs resonate in the first place.
