Filipino makeup artist Slo Lopez has never been one to follow beauty rules. Throughout her career, she’s built a reputation for treating makeup as a creative medium rather than simply a tool for enhancement—often experimenting with bold color, unexpected textures, free-form shapes, and unconventional techniques.
That philosophy comes to life once again in her second collaboration with Issy. Following the success of her vibrant eyeshadow singles, Lopez returns with the Multiuse Liquid Paint, a collection designed to encourage experimentation instead of perfection, and an invitation to rediscover the joy of playing with makeup.

Second Time Around
After debuting her first Issy collaboration with bold eyeshadow singles and shimmering finishes, Lopez returns with a different format: versatile liquid paints that range from everyday neutrals to vivid colors and glitter.
While the products may be new, the collaboration has been years in the making. Lopez revealed that development began nearly two years ago, shortly after her first collection launched.
“The reason why I say I can only really do it with this brand is that I’m not policed. They know it’s not gonna be as sellable as if they partnered with a celebrity or a celebrity makeup artist,” she shared.
The honesty behind that statement reveals what makes the partnership work. Rather than chasing trends or broad commercial appeal, Lopez and Issy have built a collaboration around artistic expression.
“This collaboration reflects a truth to me, who I am as an artist. And the brand is fully supportive of bringing variety to the local market,” she added.
Back to Color, Back to Play
Color has always been central to Lopez’s artistry—not simply for self-expression, but as a creative solution.
“Color’s always been the answer to a lot of problems,” she explained. “I would mix green color corrector to make an olive foundation shade, or put lipsticks to get the right blush.”
That same mindset shaped the Multiuse Liquid Paint. Beyond its versatile formula, Lopez wanted to introduce shades that encourage experimentation in a beauty landscape she believes has become increasingly safe.
“I wanted to give people options. I’ve always been given the latitude to bring out crazy colors in the mix of what people will perceive as quite people-pleasing,” she said. She pointed to fan-favorite Issy shades Cowgirl and Macabre—colors she hand-mixed herself—as proof that consumers are open to trying something different.
Instead of telling people how makeup should be used, Lopez hopes the collection encourages them to explore what works for them. “This is my way of spicing it up,” she laughed. “Because this is limited edition, people will have the option to make the crazy colors they want.”

“That ethos that I’ve integrated in my career and that has given me so much… it’s that energy I want to put into this collection and to put out to people,” she reflected. It’is less about creating perfect makeup than creating a space where people feel encouraged to experiment, share ideas, and inspire one another.
Over the years, she’s been moved by messages from fellow artists and makeup lovers thanking her for introducing products and ideas that previously felt inaccessible in the local market.
“That idea of sharing and community, it’s so nice to see now that ethos is carried over in small waves everywhere,” Lopez said.

As beauty trends become increasingly curated and algorithm-driven, Lopez hopes people remember that makeup doesn’t always have to be polished or perfect. “I just want them to discover how makeup can be fun, and that’s the feedback I’ve been getting that excites me the most,” she said.
More than encouraging people to wear bold colors, she also hopes the collection gives them permission to experiment.
