In just a couple of months, September 23 to be exact, viewers will finally get to watch DreamWorks Animation’s highly-anticipated Forgotten Island in cinemas. Already, the early promo rollout has been teasing bits and pieces of the Filipino-centric movie about two friends who are transported to a magical island based on Philippine mythology, including advanced screenings that have received positive reception from those who have seen it. And adding to the hype is the release of BINI’s latest song, A Parallel World, which is included in the film’s soundtrack.

BINI Drops the Latest Bestie Anthem From Forgotten Island
A Parallel World was initially teased during the group’s sold-out Signals World Tour kick-off show at SM Mall of Asia Arena last June, with the members playing the song’s opening lines and performing the single’s choreography. But now that the track is officially out, it gives listeners the clearest picture yet of what we can expect with the movie’s soundtrack as well as BINI’s contribution to the film’s OST with all eight members singing on the track.
Produced by Nathan Matthew David (who is a Filipino-American) and Shawn Wasabi, and mixed by Tom Norris, A Parallel World is an electropop track that sounds as colorful as the movie looks. The verses float with a sense of magical wonder while the chorus brings everything together in a synth-pop beat drop, making for an upbeat adventure that’s rooted in togetherness.
Lyrically, the song captures and incorporates Forgotten Island’s central theme of the unbreakable bond of friendship, embodied by the film’s two lead characters, Jo and Raissa.
