Fiziwoo never settles for one story when two can be told in dialogue. At Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2025, designers Hafizi Radzi Woo and Izree Kai Haffiz staged a dual showcase — the ready-to-wear “Her” collection under Fiziwoo, and the couture line “Crowned in Thread” under Fiziwoo Artisanal. Both were steeped in history, yet each spoke in a different register of power.

For Fiziwoo, the muse was Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, whose scandalous romance often eclipsed her impeccable style. “Her” distilled Simpson’s ability to command attention without noise — dresses embroidered with monkeys as sly motifs, sculptural gowns that nodded to her mourning attire, and tailored silhouettes that balanced restraint with presence. The collection sketched a portrait of femininity that is elegant yet assertive, unafraid to make quiet gestures feel seismic.

Fiziwoo Artisanal, on the other hand, looked to the region’s most exalted textile: songket. “Crowned in Thread” honored the fabric as sovereign, weaving together the legacies of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. One gown paired Songket Limar — so rare it is valued like a car — with a kebaya top edged in hand-embroidered kerawang ayak. Another shimmered in silver light, each bead and thread placed with devotional patience.
This was grandeur that showed the audience that true luxury reveals itself only when you lean in.
